Synopsis:  She’s driven to save her life. He’s haunted by breaking one. Some secrets are risky to share. But nothing’s more powerful than                                falling in love…

Nineteen-year-old Sophie has the kind of hope that makes her do weird things–like leave her family and friends behind in her small                     hometown and travel thousands of miles to a strange city–Los Angeles.

She didn’t plan on getting into the middle of a bar fight on the USCLA campus her first night in town. She didn’t want to be rescued                        by twenty-one-year- old Alejandro, the hottest guy she’s ever met. She has no time to fall for a guy because her stakes are high–life                      and death.

Sophie’s starting a promising, experimental USCLA Medical study that could heal her debilitating disease. But California’s filled                            with all kinds of  alternative healers offering medical miracles. When she ventures on her own to find them, she quickly discovers                          that L.A.’s a tough city, with bad guys more than happy to take advantage of her.

She hires Alejandro to be her driver and her bodyguard. Their journeys take them to sunny beaches, dicey ghettos, campus hang-                           outs, gang-infested hoods and celebrity parties. And she learns that healing doesn’t always come the way you think you need it.

Sophie’s healing is six-foot-two-inches tall, has stunning hazel eyes, black, shiny hair and a rock solid chest that shelters her. Her                             healing is a smart, gorgeous Alpha Boy with a killer sense of humor–Alejandro.

As they fall in love, she realizes Alejandro isn’t your typical college party boy–he has a dangerous past. And Sophie isn’t the only one                    who keeps secrets.

Review:  I gave this book 5 Stars out of 5 because I loved the fact that the Story was based around Sophie a young woman ( and her                                            Nanna)  from the Midwest of America with MS  who travels to LA to research Healing Techniques that will help with MS as well as to                    take part in a stem Cell research project at USCLA but meets and falls in love with a Local boy.

Sophie was a really good character because to begin with she was a girl who was closed off to loving anyone, as she’s scared of                                   loosing people, and absolutely focused on finding something that will cure her Nanna’s (and her) MS but gradually she opens her                           heart up to Alejandro, as well as the  Kitten that she adopts, ultimately falling in love with both of them.

Alejandro was a lovely character who you couldn’t help but fall in love with. To begin with he was a very closed off angry young                               man who thought he was a monster due to an accident that he had been involved in several years before in which one of his friends                       was killed but through the book as he falls  in love with Sophie he begins to heal himself as he opens up to Sophie about what                                   happened.  Throughout the book he’s a strong and supportive person when it comes to Sophie and all his friends.

You've got to be careful when you're chasing a murderer through Bulikov, for the world is not as it should be in that city. When the gods were destroyed and all worship of them banned by the Polis, reality folded; now stairs lead to nowhere, alleyways have become portals to the past, and criminals disappear into thin air. The murder of Dr Efrem Pangyui, the Polis diplomat researching the Continent's past, has begun something and now whispers of an uprising flutter out from invisible corners. Only one woman may be willing to pursue the truth - but it is likely to cost her everything.

The book was about the politics, culture and religious beliefs of a place called the continent, which I think is meant to be some in the far east. It is full of love, death (murder), mystery and intrigue.

I loved this fantastic book although at times I found it quite heavy going due to the combination of the cultural and historical religious basis of the story.

The Authors writing style and world building was great and at times made me feel like I was actually part of the story which made the story even more intrigiung. Shara the main character in the story was a very interesting, well educated, strong willed, gentle and loving person who was able to see things for what they were; and because of this was a character I connected with immediately and remained connected to through out the book. Her interactions with all the other characters really gave a me an idea of what they were like as individuals and how they developed as a group.

All the characters were really well developed but with room for further development in future books.

I will read this book again as well as recommend it to others and buy it as a gift for anyone I know who will enjoy it which is why I gave the book a 4 star rating. Having read this book and it being the first book in a series I know that I will without doubt read the other books.

synopsis: Linc knows Wyn is the girl for him.

Wyn knows Linc is the boy for her.

But she’s promised to another.

Lincoln “Linc” Tatman had been at his new school for months and he thought he’d met all the girls it had to offer. Until one day, he spied Wyn sitting against a tree and realized this new place had been hiding the girl of his dreams. He goes out of his way to get to know her, even though he’s warned that it’s a hopeless case. But he’s determined to win her, even if she can only be his for a short time.

Arwyn “Wyn” Scott is the black sheep of her big gypsy family. When most of the girls her age are dropping out to start their own families, she begs her parents to stay. She doesn’t fit in with the gypsy teens and the regular teens are too afraid of her five older brothers to get close. Then Linc comes into her life, showing her a new life she never thought she could have. She can’t stop herself from falling head first for the boy.

Can Wyn leave behind her family and their traditions to follow her heart, or will she become a young gypsy wife

* * * * * * * * *

I couldn’t put this book down from the moment I started reading it to the moment I finished it which is why it only took me just over 24 hours to read it and I loved it so much because it was fascinating getting an insight in to the beliefs and traditions of the “gypsy” community as well as due to the love story between Wyn and Lincoln.  It was because of this that I gave the book ‘5 stars out of 5’ and that I would and will recommend the book to others both personally and via this blog.

Wyn was a grate heroine because she was able to fight against her community’s beliefs that girls shouldn’t finish their education in favour of getting married, an arranged marriage and having children. She not only did this but also ultimately walked away from her family on her wedding day when overheard her eldest brother talking to her fiance at the church about how he had told him (the fiance) to request her hand from their father.

Lincoln is a strong character from the start and this is shown by the fact that he is so supportive with Wyn from the day they start thier relationship.

The way the book ends with Lincoln and Wyn in the Hospital having their first baby and this was the perfect way to finish the book.

Book Review

Synopsis: Skylar’s family was forced into the witness protection program when she was only seventeen. After her mother died years later, Sky moved back in with the only family she had left. She knew she’d run into her high school sweetheart but she didn’t expect the changes she found in Rowdy. He wasn’t the sweet boy she left so many years ago. He’d turned into a womanizing jerk but that didn’t stop her heart from wanting him.

Review:  I gave this book 5 stars out of 5 because I fell in Love the two main characters, Skylar & Rowdy immediately both                  them as  individuals and them as a couple, because of this I would and will recommend the book to others both                    personally and on my blog.  I also found the Stories of two of the other characters Anna and Boon really                                interesting. It was also an grate book because it was based around Rock climbing.

I really felt for Skylar and Rowdy when it came to Skylar just disappearing when her family had to go into witness                protection and then when her Aunt and Uncle died, and she wasn’t able to go.

The way Charli’s writing draws you in and keeps you wanting more through the descriptions of characters, scenes                and places is amazing.

To begin with Anna you felt sorry for her because it was obvious that she was screwed up about what her Dad had               done with regard being in Jail for killing Rowdy’s, her step brother, Mum and the fact that she was in love with                     Rowdy.  However as soon she attacked Skylar in an attempt to kill her you lost all sympathy for her.

I loved it when Skylar texted Anna from Rowdy’s phone asking her to meet in Rowdy’s room to try to get                               a confession out of her about what she’d done to her and the fact that she was blackmailing Rowdy.

That is until Sloan literally trips into his life.

When a traumatic event nearly shatters Sloan to pieces, Jake is there to rescue her and pick up the pieces. Together they try to push out of their comfort zones and are forced to discover if the risks are worth falling in love.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

I gave this book  ‘5 stars out of 5 ‘  because of the combination of the story being based in a winter Sports Resort, around snow boarding and the developing love story between Sloan and Jake. I loved this book so much that with out doubt I would recommend this book to other people both personally and via my blog.

Sloan’s character development throughout the book is grate because she goes from being a sacred, vulnerable & insecure girl as a result of her childhood who doesn’t beleive in love at the beginning of the book to a more secure, happy go lucky girl who’s in love.

Jake’s character development throughout the book, from when we first meet him is grate because he goes from living his life fast and hard including womanizing to falling head over heels in love with Sloan and being happy to be a strictly one woman man. I especially loved the fact that he encouraged Sloan to try to do a jump on the jump course which helped to build her confidence as well as being the one who saved her when a man was attacking her in a back alley one night at the local club.

The way the author describes things like the snow in the story really makes the reader fell like their actually at the Ski Resort experiencing it for themselves.

Book Review

I read this book in just over 24 hours because it was addictive therefore I gave it five stars out of 5.  It was so addictive because of the story being based around a terrorist attack on a cruise ship and the aftermath of it.

This book was captivating from beginning to end from the relationship between Isabelle and Lady Theodosia to the growing love story between Isabells and Lord Adrian Wingrave. Which is why I gave it 5 stars out of 5 and also why I will recommend this book to other peolpe,.ol

The descriptions of scenes and Characters that Nicole gave not only made me feel like I was part of the story but that I new the places and characters intimately.

From the moment that Isabelle met Lord Adrian Wingrave at the Masquerade Ball and fell in love with him I felt for her as I have been in a similar situation (although not with some one that wasn’t from my class).

Review: Midland by Scott Alan Wade

Book Synopsis

Zombies for Young Adults!
Sometimes bullets aren’t enough!

Alone and on her own, fifteen-year-old Sam Grace must fight her way through the horrors of a city overrun with hundreds of thousands of the living dead. However, the zombies are the least of her worries. Who can she trust? Is there anyone left to help when her bullets run out? Where can she escape to?

I have given this book 5stars out of 5 because it gripped me from beginning to end so I would and will recommend it to others. As you got in to the book I loved the way Scott gave some of the back story of the family through flash backs that Sam has.

The descriptions of the characters and scenes in the book were grate and really made you feel like you were part of the story. I loved the character developments for both Sam and Brandon, especially their developing love story.

The way Scott described the way the Zombies looked and moved was amazing because it meant that I was able to imagine being one.

With the way that the book finished I have to say that I feel that it could have been part of a duology because it would have been lovely to see how the love story between Sam & Brandon developed, how Brandon and his Sister Ally settled in to life on the Messa as well as how Sam’s mothers character developed more from being a seriously Ill woman in bed to being back to being the centre of the Family again

Review: Dragon Fire by Dina Von Lowenkraft

When seventeen-year-old Anna first meets Rakan in her hometown north of the Arctic Circle, she is attracted to his pulsing energy. Unaware that he is a shape-shifting dragon, Anna is drawn into a murderous cycle of revenge that pits Rakan and his clan against her best friend June.

Torn between his forbidden relationship with Anna, punishable by death, and restoring his family’s honor by killing June, Rakan must decide what is right. And what is worth living – or dying – for.

I gave this book 5 stars because I loved it from beginning to end. The authors Writing style, duel perspect . ive, grabbed me as soon as I started reading the and kept me hooked until I finished it.

The character and scene descriptions were so amazing that they made me fell that I was actually one of the characters in the story as well as that I am seeing the places that are being described.

I also very quickly became addicted to the love story between the main characters Anna & Raken (the dragon) and June & Erling (dragons). As well as the story behind the relationship between the Dragons and the Elythia (people of the light Iangels)).

This book was so grate that I will recommend it to other people because I want people to be able to enjoy it like I did
