My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When I saw this book on NetGalley it was the Title that captured my attention and made me wan to read the book.

This was an excellent second book in what is going to be a 4 book series and is well worth the five star rating that I have given it, because I loved it from cover to cover, would and will recommend it to others as well as read it again in the future.

Elke’s writing was even more captivating and descriptive in this book as it was in the first book. Especially when she described the scenes of the Raytara trial and Livvia’s journey in space when she reached out to one of the characters miinds while he was ubilocating

I loved getting to know all the characters more especially Randolf and Livvia and seeing Livvia develop even more. It was also great being introduced to Rose another Arash who Livvia met while in hiding. I have to admit I was sad to see Ruth leave Randolfs family but it was nice that another Arash joined his Family.

I can’t wait to see how the story develops further especially when it comes to them finding Livvia’s mother who we found isn’t actually dead but had been imprisoned by an evil non dark Arash from another family. It was lovely end to this story that Randolf and the head of his old family reconciled with each other.

I loved this book so much that as soon as I had finished reading it I started the next book in the series Tasagalt – Cross of the South.

Blog and You tube Updates:

It is my plan to embed video in to my month in rewind post each month which will be my reviews for the books that I have read during the month, so I don’t have to write the reviews. I will say at the beginning of each book review if the book is a book that I have received for review. This video will also be available on you tube as well.

I am planning to do a Series review for all the book series that I read and this will be done as a video for youtube which will also be embedded into a review post as well.

I am planning on scheduling non day/time specific videos, like Monthly Missions, Month in rewind, to go live every couple of days:

I will be filming my videos on a Monday and editing & uploading on a tuesday

Book Review: Shadow Hunt, Arash 1 by Elke Schuster

Shadow Hunt (Arash, #1)
Book Synopsis: You may have met one without even noticing. You may have kissed one and been disappointed that he or she never called you. They may have been Arash. Livia is the black sheep of her family, self-conscious and underachieving. That is, until she
meets her new friends: the exuberant Natalie, her brother Rupert, the sculptor, intelligent librarian Will, stunning interior designer Ruth, and arrogant horse breeder Cassius. The group of mismatched friends makes Livia feel as if she may fit in somewhere for the first time in her life. Then she begins to suspect that her so-called friends are not who they claim to be. They hold a secret that could change Livia’s life forever.

Will her great love for one of them survive the challenges of becoming an immortal Arash? Will Livia herself manage to survive?

Books in Series

Raytara – Judgement of the Stars, Arash 2

Tasgalt – Star of the South, Arash 3

Jhanmar – World Travellers, Arash 4

I absolutely loved this book from cover to cover and feel that it was an amazing introduction in to the world of the Arash, which is why I gave it a 4 star rating. I admit I wanted to give the book a full five star rating but I didn’t because I wanted to see how the story will develop in the other books in the series.

The author wrote the book in a way that kept you wondering all the way through what was going to happen next as well allowing the world of the Arash to unfold slowly due to what the main character Livia was learning about them as the story developed. I also loved the way that Elke developed Rhandolf the main Arash who turns out to be Livia’s biological father because you were always wondering what secrets he was hiding. I loved the dynamics between the Arash family: Natalie the kind hearted, gentle, hopeless romantic bright Arash; Ruth the cold hearted, bitchy interior designer dark Arash; Will the kind, gentle, Gay bright Arash & brother to Ruth; Cassius the domineering but loveable horse breeding dark Arash; Rupert the balchy but gentle, sculpture bright Arash and brother to Natalie

The story begins where Livia has broken up with her boyfriend just before Christmas and is feeling lonely and like she doesn’t fit anywhere again, then she meets Natalie. As she gets to know Natalie and her friends she begins to feel like she fits in somewhere at last. I loved the way that the Author wrote the dream sequences in the book as the way she described what was happening really made me as the reader feel like I was experiencing it myself as it was blatantly obvious that the character was feeling like is this a dream or is it really happening like you do sometimes with dreams.

All in all this was a fantastic book which I strongly recommend to any reader who loves books about mythical/ asteral beings. So all that is left to say is that I will be reading the rest of this series, in fact I am currently reading the second book in the series Raytara – Judgement of the Stars.
