MY REVIEW

I purchased this book from amazon after I found Raytara – Judgement of the Stars (Arash 2) and Tasagalt – Cross of the South (Arash 3) on Netgalley. Elke Schuster is a new author to me and in fact this book was her debut novel which is amazing as her writing is so accessible and enjoyable. The book fits well into the romamce, sci-fi and Fantasy classification that it has been placed. So lets look at the book

Plot/Storyline etc.: This book was easy to read which was a good thing because it meant that I read the book quickly and immediately read the next book in the series. The relationship between Livvia and her future Arash Family and especially Cassius progressed at a natural pace for a first book. I also loved the fact that as the reader you weren’t given the back stories of the main characters immediately but rather subtle hints to them were peppered throughout the book because it added to the stories intrigue and depth. The best parts of this books plot was definatly the should I should I element of Livvia’s decision to become an Arash and the development if the love affair between Livvia and Cassius.

Character (s): The way Elke described all the characters in this book enabled me as the reader to connect with each of them on different levels. However the characters that I liked the most were Livvia, Natalie and Cassius because their relationships (especially Livvia’s and Cassius’) were so captivating. I particularly loved Livvia because she was a person who at the beginning of the book had no self confidence and didn’t feel that she belonged but by the end of the book she had become quit a confident person as well as feeing like she finally belonged somewhere.

Summary: I was really surprised how much I loved this book meaning that I devoured it and immediately wanted to read the next book in the series. For me the best parts of this book were the romance and starting to learn about the Arash world that the book/series was about. I just wish I had read the book a lot sooner than I did. All that is left to say is that I will be reading the other books in this series and will keep my eyes open for any more books by Elke,
