Soar (The Empire Chronicles, #1) by Alyssa Rose Ivy
My rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Disclaimer: I received this book for review from NetGalley
This book is about a young girl named Casey Bates who is working in a Coffee shop to save up in order to return to college to complete her degree. Then she meets Toby a supernatural creature and finds out that she is also a supernatural creature. She soon reolizes that she is in over her head.

Alyssas writing is fantastic and made this book a great start to what I am sure will be a great page turning series. In fact I have already started reading he second book in the series.
The multiple POV in the book meant that you got the story from the point of view of each of the main characters (Casey, Toby, and Jared) so you got a more rounded base to the story and it made it a page turner as well because I just wanted to know what was going to happen next.
The way Alyssa built the world was amazing and made me as the reader fell part of the book.

The love story that developed between Casey and Toby as well as the one night of passion that she had with Jared made me feel like I really connected with all of them in different ways. I really felt for Casey as she fekt like an outsider in the Human world then when she found out that she was indeed a member of the same supernatural world as Jared and Toby there to.
I loved this book so much that I will re read it as well as enjoy the series as a whole, and Alyssa will become an Auto read author for me if not a auto buy one as well. It will also be a book (series) that I will recommend it to others as well as buy it for a gift for any one who I think will enjoy it. It was a combination of all the above things that led me to give the book a five star rating.

Shadow Dragon (Shapeshifter Dragons, #2) by Marc Secchia
Disclaimer: I received this book direct from the author in return for an honest review, so thank you very much Marc.
My rating: 5 out of 5 stars
This was a fantastic continuation to what I am convinced will be a great series as in the previous book Marc’s writing, character development and world building made the book a page turner, although it did take me a while to read it but that was because I am just coming out of a reading slump that I have been in for a few months now.
Aranya’s character development in this book was amazing as were those of the other characters from the first book. I also loved the new characters that were introduced in this book and the way their stories developed gradually during the book, so I can’t wait to see how the new characters and the existing characters stories develop in the next book.
The love stories between Aranya and Yoliathon then Aranya and Arden and Zuizanna and Rhiornan are both really lovely and enabled me as the reader to understand the characters themselves as both individuals and as couples a lot more. It was also interesting learning more about the importance of the relationship between dragons and their riders.

I can honestly say that because I have enjoyed both this book and the first book in the series so much that Marc will become both an auto buy and auto read author for. This is part of the reason why I gave the book a 5 star rating along with the fact that I will read it again in the future as well as recommend it to others or buy it as a gift for anyone I know who I think will enjoy it.

Completely Alone (The Completely Series Book 1) by Rein Scott
Disclaimer: I received this book from the Author via the New Adult Book Club read it and review it programme
My rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
When I read the synopsis for this book on the current New Adult Book Club read and review monthly newsletter I knew I would more than likely enjoy it and I wasn’t disappointed. This was a well written, well developed, easy to read page turner of a book.

I was able to connect with Fin the main character straight away because you saw things through his eyes immediately.
The story also enabled me to gain an understanding of the complex feelings/needs that someone who has been adopted has. Fin was very career orientated and not the slightest bit interested in a relationship as a result of the fact that he was abandoned by his biological mother as a baby. Or at least he was until he met Sicily the museum curator, from the museum where he loaned some artefacts that he got in an inheritence from his biological father. However he didn’t realise just how much he loved her until it was almost to late.

The slow burn of the relationship between Fin and Sicily was really endearing and made you realise the how important total trust and honesty is in a relationship.
I gave this book a five star rating as I loved it from beginning to end and would not hesitate to recommend it to others or buy it as a gift for anyone I think will enjoy it. Along with the fact that I know I will read it again and that it is a great start to what I am sure will be an amazing series which I will read in fact I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Christmas with the Billionaire by Amy Lamont
Disclaimer: I received this book as part of a 3 book bundle of the first three books in
this series via Goodreads New Adult Book Club Read it Review it programme
My Rating: 5 Stars
Wow what a perfect heart warming love at first sight story with a Christmas twist. This was an great start to what I am sure will be a great series. It was the perfect mix of a great introduction to the four main characters (Emma, Katelyn, Paige and Jade) that the series will be based around while also focusing on one of the afore mentioned character (Emma (aka Brandi Silver)). This particular book focused on Emma and how she gained her points towards the bet that the friends put in place on Thanksgiving Eve.
Amy’s writing style, character and plot development in this book was amazing and made it a real page turner. I particularly enjoyed the growth in Emma and Nate’s relationship from a potential angry ended one night stand to a possible long term relationship after them ending up spending Christmas together.
Although this was a short book (11 chapters) there was so much action and fun in it that you would be forgiven for thinking that it was a longer book. Due to the wonderful fullness of the authors writing I can’t wait to read the next two books to see if their as good as this one and I know that I read this one again in the future. It was this fact along with the fact that I will both recommend it to others and buy it as a gift for anyone who I think will enjoy it that made me give it a five star rating.
I also feel that this author will definitely become an auto read author and more than likely an auto buy author as well.
