Hi.
Here’s my Friday reads post for the week of 19 Sept. and I will be telling you about the books that I read this week, the books that I am currently reading and the books that I received for review this week.
Books Read
Three Dark Crowns (Three Dark Crowns #1) by Kendare Blake
Book Information Disclaimer: This is a book that was received for review purposes but this in no way has any effect on my opinions on it.
MY FINAL VIEWS: I thoroughly enjoyed this well written and intriguing book which was a great start to what I sure is going to be and amazing series. All the characters were developed in a way that was engaging so as the reader I wanted to read about them, but left room for further development in future books.
The world building was good although some elements could have done with being developed a little more although I guess this development will no doubt happen in future books. I loved the competition element between the sisters in the story especially when it looks like they may end up working together rather than against each other. I can honestly say that I really didn’t like one sister more than the others. This book fits well in the genre that I was written for and so I would both recommend it to or buy it as a gift for anyone anyone who enjoys a good fantasy book with romance and magical elements in it. The Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycle #2/4) by Maggie Stiefvatter
Book Information
Final Thoughts: Although I really enjoyed this book from the moment I started it I was finding it difficult to focus on reading it (read to chapter ) so I got the Audio book version from the library and flew through the rest of it. This was a great second book in a series as it expand on some of the things that were left up in the air in the first book while leaving room for further information to be given about them in future books as well as introducing more things/people into the story that will be expanded on in the future books. Even though I still loved Maggie’s writing in this book I learned that this series is one that I need to listen to as apposed to read because although I only listened to roughly the last 1/4 of this book it was a lot better doing it that way for me as I was able to pick up on far more of the nuances that were in the book. Once I have written the full review I will link it at the bottom of the page

Blue Lilly Lilly Blue (The Raven Cycle #3/4) by Maggie Stiefvatter
MY INITIAL THOUGHTS: I am not that far in to this well written great continuation to what is a fantastic series. I am thoroughly enjoying listening to the book as the the narrator does the voices for each the characters really well which means that I am able to understand them as individuals and their relationships with each other. Currently I would give it a 5 star rating and I am sure that wont change when I finish it but look out for my full review which I will also link here when I have written it.

Magonia (Magonia #1) by Maria Dahvana Headley
INITIAL THOUGHTS: This Is the first book I have read by this author
and I can honestly say that although I am not far thorough the book at the moment I am really enjoying it. Maria’s writing is thoroughly engaging and the characters are thoroughly well developed and believable. There are places in the book where the story drags but the overall story is fascinating so I can over look it. At the moment I would give the book a five star rating as it is a good solid start to what I am fairly sure will be a great sr

Wonder by R.J. Palacio
INITIAL THOUGHTS: Currently I although I am not far through the book I am really enjoying it and think that it is really well written. This is the first book by this author that I have read and without reserve I will read any more of his work. The way the author has developed the characters so far is making them easy to believe in. I already feel like I have made a strong connection to the main character August and that I will with some of the other characters as well. Because of this I am fairly sure that once I have finished this book I will give it a 5 star rating as I am enjoying it so much at the moment, so please look out for the link to the review if you want to know the rating I gave it as well as my views on it.

The Girl With the Red Coat by Kate Harmer
INITIAL THOUGHTS: I have never read any of Kate’s work before but due to the ease of read that I’m experiencing with this book at the moment I will read her other books in the future. The little girl () who’s the main character in the book is really lovable and is so well written so far so she’s believable and easy to connect with. I can also see how well the other characters will develop through the book. Currently I would say that when I finish reading this book I will give a five star rating because it is such a heartwarmigly well written book so look out for my review if your interested in knowing what I thought of it and the star rating I gave it.

Noughts and Crosses (Noughts and Crosses #1/4) by Malorie Blackman
INITIAL THOUGHTS: I am currently reading this book in audio book format from my local library and I am thoroughly enjoying it. This is the first book I have read by this author and it is very well written and at the moment I would say that she will be an author that will become a favourite. The main characters a young girl (nought) and a young boy (a cross) who are best friends are developing well and muti dimensional which means their easy to connect with. The world building so far is great and I feel sure it will only get better as the story goes on. I am really glad that I decided to get the audio book copy from the library because as much as I enjoyed the EBook sample that I read I am finding it a lot easier to get in to the story listening to it as I At the moment I can say that I will give the book a five star rating but if your interested in seeing what my ultimate views of the books are and the star rating that I give it then look out for my review, which I will link below as soon as I have published it.

All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
INITIAL THOUGHTS: I am not that far into this book at the moment but I am thoroughly enjoying it which is good because I have never read anything by this author before. I thank one of the main reasons I am enjoying it so much is because I am listening to an audio book copy of it which I got from my local library. The two main characters are believable and multifaceted which is making them easy to connect with and I can’t wait to see how their relation/friendship develops as the book goes on.
